
The Faculty of Public Health “Prof. Tzecomir Vodenitcharov, MD, DSc”, Medical University – Sofia is pleased to announce the launch of a Staff week/Blended Intensive Program (BIP) dedicated to bring together nursing educators from INGENIUM partners for one week of collaborative work, exchange, and reflection. Participants will compare nursing curricula, teaching methodologies, and clinical training approaches, identify common challenges and opportunities, and work together on shared disciplines and themes. Through workshops, discussions, and joint activities, the programme aims to strengthen international cooperation, promote innovative and evidence-based nursing education, and support the development of common pedagogical approaches across institutions.
The BIP will take place in Sofia, Bulgaria from the 20th to the 24th of April 2026

📖 Program Details:
- On-Site Activities: A 5-day intensive program hosted at the Faculty of Public Health.
- Virtual Component: One online preparatory meeting in April 2026 in line with BIP guidelines.
✅ Eligibility:
The program is open to and staff and administrators responsible for the Nursing education in their own universities (maximum of 20 people) from all INGENIUM partners which are awarding Nursing degrees.
🌱 Program Focus:
The BIP emphasizes Collaboration in Nursing Education—exploring how nursing teachers can work together to strengthen teaching quality, exchange opportunities, joint disciplines, innovative teaching and learning, extended reality, and respond to shared challenges in healthcare education. The programme views collaboration not only as exchange, but as a foundation for innovation, consistency, and excellence in nursing education.
Participants will explore:
- What are the core competencies and common disciplines in nursing education across institutions?
• How do nursing curricula compare, and where are opportunities for alignment and joint development?
• Which teaching and learning methods are most effective in nursing education today?
• How can simulation, digital tools, and innovative pedagogy enhance clinical competence?
• What are the challenges in linking theory and clinical practice, and how can they be addressed collaboratively?
• How can nursing educators support student wellbeing, inclusion, and professional identity formation?
• What are good practices for assessment and evaluation in nursing education?
• How can international collaboration improve the quality and relevance of nursing programmes?
• What opportunities exist for future joint courses, mobility, or research initiatives among nursing educators?
🎓 Methods and Pedagogical Approach:
- Lectures and seminars delivered by experienced nursing educators and healthcare professionals from participating institutions.
• Comparative sessions analysing nursing curricula, learning outcomes, and teaching practices across countries.
• Interactive workshops on innovative teaching methods, simulation-based learning, and digital tools in nursing education.
• Collaborative group work aimed at identifying common disciplines, developing shared teaching resources, and proposing future joint initiatives.
🎯 Expected Learning Outcomes:
Participants will:
- Gain a comprehensive understanding of similarities and differences in nursing curricula, teaching methods, and clinical education across participating institutions.
- Develop the ability to identify common competencies and disciplines in nursing education and recognize opportunities for curriculum alignment.
- Acquire practical tools and strategies to enhance teaching quality through innovative, student-centred, and evidence-based pedagogical approaches.
- Strengthen skills in integrating theory and clinical practice, including the effective use of simulation and digital learning tools.
- Enhance international collaboration, professional networking, and peer learning among nursing educators.
- Engage in collaborative workshops and group work to develop shared teaching resources and proposals for future joint initiatives.
