INGENIUM Student Partnerships 2026 Call

The INGENIUM Student Partnerships 2026 Call supports student-led initiatives that strengthen collaboration between students and student organisations from across the INGENIUM Alliance. Building on the Student Partnerships framework, this new call aims to foster competence development, creativity and intercultural learning, while contributing to INGENIUM’s overarching goal of developing a truly European inter-university Campus.

Through this seed funding scheme, this year’s call seeks to support a wide range of student-led activities and to “plant the seeds” for lasting collaboration within the Alliance. The initiative is implemented together with the INGENIUM Student Board, which is co-responsible for the evaluation of proposals. All types of activities can be supported, provided they align with INGENIUM objectives and values and promote collaboration across partner universities.

Who is this call for?

This initiative addresses all INGENIUM students and student-led associations that:

Have a project idea and are seeking partners and funds to bring it to life;
Want to expand their student network beyond their university;
Don’t yet have a project idea, but want to contribute their knowledge and skills to an international student project.

Eligible project partners:

Both under- and Postgraduate students can apply (Bachelor, Master, PhD.) Other students enrolled in lifelong learning programmes may apply as well. Students need to ensure student status throughout the project lifetime. Students may change cycles within the project period*.
Student organisations/associations recognised as such by any of the INGENIUM universities.
A combination of both is also possible: for instance, 2 student organisations with students from one or two other universities.
Students who have already participated in a previous Student Partnerships Call are eligible to apply with a new project idea or in new forms of collaborations**.

Note: A student can only participate in ONE funded project.

*Note: PhD students/candidates may only apply with projects unrelated to any teaching obligations they may have or to a research activity they are paid or receive any other funding for.

**Note: If the proposed project represents a continuation or scale-up of a previously funded INGENIUM student project, the proposal will need to include information on how the new proposal builds on, extends or scales up the previous project and what added value it brings. Scale-up project should clearly add added value, innovation or new results and be strongly justified.

📌 Important

Projects should involve students or student led associations from at least 3 partner universities. There is no maximum number of partners universities that can get involved.

Areas of interests for projects

The project proposals should be linked to one or more of the INGENIUM objectives and working areas, including:

Inclusivity
Inclusion of people from all backgrounds
Sustainable Development
Tackling local and global challenges
Intercultural dialogue
Supporting intercultural learning and fostering student mobility.
Student Entrepreneurship*
Fostering relevant competences for the world of work and societal engagement.
Local and global challenges
Tackling local and global challenges.
Healthy Campus
Supporting the creation of a healthy INGENIUM European Campus.

*Student entrepreneurship may include leadership, public speaking, time management, teamwork, critical thinking, and other related competences.

The proposals might include any type of activities linked to these objectives. They can include one or several activities.

Application requirements

A combination of both is also possible: for instance, 2 student organisations with students from two other universities. As long as 3 students or students organisations from 3 universities are involved.

Applicants must contact their universities before sending the application. The contact should be done through the contact email (see bottom of page).

🧩Eligible activities

The INGENIUM Student Partnership can fund all types of activities that foster collaboration between INGENIUM students and align with INGENIUM values and key objectives, as described in this call.

Examples of activities include:

Workshops, training events, training sessions;
Exhibitions or other types of dissemination events;
Excursions;
Competitions (sport tournaments, skills-related competitions such as debate leagues, and any other related events);
Hackathons;
Community engagement activities.

Projects may have one or several activities. Activities may be carried out on-site, online, or in a hybrid mode. They may be carried out only in one university or in several universities, either in parallel or consecutively.

What is the funding scheme?

Each project may be allocated funding of up to €10,000. Applicants will not receive the funding directly, as it will be managed by the INGENIUM offices of the students’ home universities.

The amount per partner should be defined in the budget proposal
A single university partner shall not receive more than 50% of the total funding.
Sending universities need to apply for travel budget (the host university usually cannot pay for others to travel to them).

The final budget allocation per partner and project will be determined based on the availability of the funding, which will depend on the number of applications.

Your university’s INGENIUM Project Coordinator can help prepare your budget (see section “Who to Contact?” below).

Students will not have to manage the funds directly: this will be done by the financial responsibles of each institution. Each institution may follow different procedures in terms of payments and expenses.

Important: Talk to your local INGENIUM Project Coordinator about what is possible or not possible in your country/university!

💰Eligible costs

Travel expenses (transport, accommodation)
Material resources (consumables, food, costs for renting venues, transportation costs during the event
Communication and dissemination activities and materials
Personnel costs to support the preparation of an activity
- External costs, such as translators or other service providers.
Other expenses, as long as they are duly justified in the application form. Costs may be included as long as they are available under Erasmus+ European Universities rules.

In case of doubt, students may consult with their INGENIUM Partner Coordinator.

Who Offers Guidance & Support?

For each project, some mentoring and support will be provided, based on the specific needs of the project. Also, INGENIUM will be involved through its student structure, the INGENIUM Student Board, which will both endorse and support the selected projects and through local INGENIUM project representatives that offer administrative support.

As a rule, participants can rely on:

local INGENIUM Project Coordinators (IPCs) who will support the administration of student-led projects, in particular, the planning and administration of the budget;
INGENIUM communication channels to share their project communication;
standard mobility procedures which are supported as usual at each university;

Application process

The application process will be composed of two steps. The second step is the only mandatory one, so you won´t need to go through the first one if you do not need to:

A period for individual expressions of interest by any individual student, student association, or group formed by a combination of the two. This expression of interest will be done to find partners who may be interested in joining forces in a project. The expressions of interest application period will be open from the 16 February until the 9 March.
A final submission of the application documents (application form and budget), including a confirmation that all the students have been in touch with their INGENIUM partner coordinators. The submission deadline is the 5 April.

1. Finding partners

Interested students and student associations will be able to find partners in different ways:

Note: We also recommend to students that have already found their project partners to attend the webinars to find out useful information about the initiative and the application process.

2. Evaluation

Applications will be reviewed by panels of at least two members, composed of an INGENIUM Steering Committee member and a member of the INGENIUM Student Board.

The evaluation criteria will be the following, in alignment with Erasmus+ evaluation criteria:

Relevance of the project: alignment of the project with INGENIUM objectives and overall objectives of the European Universities Initiative. Maximum score: 30.

Quality of the project design: clear description of the activities planned, quality of the partnership (including number of universities involved, and clearly defined roles for each partnership). Maximum score: 40.

Impact of the project: target groups to be reached (students, student organisations, staff, civil society, public institutions, companies, etc) and impact to be made in each of the target groups. Estimation of the number of people to be reached. Maximum score: 30

3. Results of the Call & Planning phase

The assessment panel will submit its recommendations to the INGENIUM Steering Committee for final validation and budget approval. The results will be made public on the INGENIUM website.

Local INGENIUM Offices will work with you to make sure your project plan is feasible and we will agree on the final budget, outcome, milestones and timeline of your project.

4. Implementation of selected projects & Reporting

If your team’s proposal is validated, you will required to report on your activity and its implementation. In particular, a financial and a mobility report will be required.
