International Students in Mechatronics Strengthen Global Ties at the University of Skövde

Two international students have recently joined the University of Skövde to study mechatronics through the INGENIUM European University Alliance, which allows students to pursue their education across several European partner institutions.

Practical learning and innovation brought Sirineh to the INGENIUM University of Skövde

Sirineh Daizy, from Cameroon, holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Mechatronics from the University of Buea. She says she was drawn to Skövde because of its strong focus on practical learning and innovation, as well as Sweden’s reputation for technology, sustainability, and high quality of life.

“The University of Skövde is very well equipped, and the staff and students are always supportive, which creates a friendly and helpful environment for newcomers like me,” she explains.

After graduation, she hopes to contribute to automation and intelligent systems in the manufacturing and energy sectors.

Kosovo student explores Sweden through INGENIUM and Erasmus Mundus

Edin Hadzija, 23, from Kosovo, also began his studies in mechatronics at Skövde this semester. Having completed his Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Prishtina, he is now enrolled in the Erasmus Mundus Master in Mechatronics.

“So far, I really like it here. The university is very student-friendly, professors are supportive, and Sweden has a great balance between studies and everyday life” he says.

Edin will continue his studies in Germany next year and aims to build an international career in mechatronics.

Both student experiences highlight the value of INGENIUM’s cross-border opportunities, which enable them to experience new cultures, academic systems, and collaborative environments. Their time in Skövde is just the beginning of a wider European journey, as they prepare to continue their studies at other INGENIUM partner universities.
