Sets the tone and vision for openness and collaboration within INGENIUM.

12:05 – Why it is useful to publish Educational Material in places where it can be found – Dr. Jeremiah Spillane, Department of Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL), Munster Technological University (MTU)

Next, we explore why and where to publish OER for maximum visibility and impact.

12:15 – The benefits of CC licenses in Open Science and OER – Qiuhong Boers & Krister Johannesson, Library, University of Skövde (HIS)

After understanding where to share, we’ll look at how Creative Commons licenses ensure clarity and reuse.

Dr Jeremiah Spillane, Educational Technologist/Instructional Designer, Department of Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL), Munster Technological University (MTU). Dr Jeremiah Spillane is an instructional designer and digital learning specialist working with the Dept. of Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) at Munster Technological University (MTU). He has a particular interest in the interface between culture and technology, particularly for educational purposes. He has wide ranging experience in open educational resources (OER) and open educational practices (OEP), from open access publishing, open access journals, to supporting the creation and distribution of openly accessible media-rich learning materials.

Krister Johannesson, Librarian, Team Research Support, University of Skövde Library. Working with support for researchers and doctoral students including information seeking, publication considerations, open access, the repository DiVA, bibliometrics and reference management.

Qiuhong Boers, Librarian, Team Research Support, University of Skövde Library. Member of University of Skövde DAU (Data Access Unit). Working with research data management since 2018. Will talk about Creative Commons License for Open Educational Resources in relation to FAIR principles under the Open Science framework.

Terhi Kaipainen, Information Specialist, Library Services, South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences, Xamk. I have been working with open science themes since 2015, focusing more on open education since 2019. I am in the national expert panel in Open Education as one of the chairs, and I am in charge of working group Peer support for Open Education. Furthermore, I have also lead quality work for open educational resources (OER) and open education practices (OEP) on national level. In my daily work I am teaching about open education themes and help the staff and students with the open education questions like quality, CC-licenses, seeking information, finding, making, and publishing OER’s.
