Contributing to the European Education Area
We believe that universities should be a driving force and strategic engines of growth in consolidating and expanding European values and European understanding.
Our Alliance will intensively promote such values by strengthening inter–university cooperation, promoting student and staff mobility, eliminating obstacles for joint degrees at the graduate, post-graduate and doctoral level, through full mutual recognition of studies and qualifications coupled with deepening social engagement.
Our Alliance will make a significant contribution to the three commitments of the EHEA, to develop a three-cycle system compatible with the overarching framework of qualifications of the EHEA and first and second cycle degrees scaled by ECTS, to ensure full compliance with the Lisbon Recognition Convention, and to apply the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the EHEA, as well as the implementation of the European Student Card.
We will contribute to the EHEA objective of innovating in learning and teaching by setting up transregional and inter-disciplinary programmes, reinforcing and spreading the use of innovative learning methodologies in the delivery of the study programmes throughout the Alliance, working towards the full implementation of student-centred learning, exploring synergies between education, research, innovation and entrepreneurship, and improving higher education connections with the rest of the educational system.
Multilingual competence, interdisciplinary approaches and an entrepreneurial mindset represent key common commitments of all INGENIUM Alliance partners
We also share the commitment to strengthen the social dimension of higher education both at local and global level. It is our priority as an Alliance to actively contribute to building a more inclusive higher educational sector, and to ensure that under-represented and vulnerable or marginalised groups enjoy equal access to opportunities in higher education, and to also engage in international learning mobility.
Our Alliance will be strengthened by existing members’ connections with higher education institutions worldwide, thereby supporting a stronger international cooperation strategy, to enhance the global attractiveness of our universities, to increase the diversity of the EHEA, and to contribute to the achievement of United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
