Prof. Dr.‑Ing. Philipp Nenninger is a German academic and engineer serving as a professor at Hochschule Karlsruhe – University of Applied Sciences (HKA) in the Faculty of Electrical and Information Engineering.  He specializes in automation engineering and Industry 4.0, with a particular focus on the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) and applications of machine learning in industrial environments. At HKA, he also holds a leadership role as Director (Institutsleiter) of the Institut für Energieeffiziente Mobilität (IEEM) – Institute for Energy‑efficient Mobility, where he leads research and collaboration with industry on topics such as connected and automated systems, digitalisation of production, and real‑world mobility challenges. His work bridges research, teaching, and industry engagement, contributing to publications and applied projects in areas such as digital twins, automation systems, and industrial digital transformation.
