INGENIUM Cybersecurity Week 2025: Call for Staff Applications Now Open

Stay tuned for student and company opportunities launching in January 2025

The University of Oviedo is excited to announce that the staff application call for its first Cybersecurity Week, taking place from 16–20 June 2025, is now open. This major event will bring together students, academic staff, and industry professionals to foster collaboration and innovation in cybersecurity and artificial intelligence (AI).

Supported by the University of Oviedo Cybersecurity Chair and funded by the Spanish National Cybersecurity Institute (INCIBE), this week-long event will span multiple university campuses and feature three main activities:

  1. Cybersecurity Hackathon:
    Open to students from INGENIUM partner universities, the hackathon will tackle industry-relevant challenges. Each partner university may send at least six students, with all travel and accommodation expenses fully covered.
  2. Education Incubator:
    This academic meeting will bring staff from INGENIUM partner universities together to explore potential collaborations in cybersecurity and AI education.
  3. Sectoral Company Meeting and Cyberfair:
    Companies in the cybersecurity sector will participate in discussions, propose challenges for the hackathon, and showcase their work.

Staff Call: Applications Open Until 23 December 2024

The University of Oviedo invites academic staff from INGENIUM partner universities to apply for roles supporting the event’s organisation and activities. Each partner university is guaranteed two staff member positions:

  • One focusing on hackathon preparation and facilitation.
  • One contributing to the academic and sectoral meetings.

Responsibilities Include:

For the Hackathon:

  • Assisting with agenda preparation.
  • Proposing and delivering sessions.
  • Identifying speakers and engaging participants.

For the Academic and Sectoral Meetings:

  • Developing agendas aligned with institutional priorities.
  • Suggesting activities to foster collaboration between academics and companies.
  • Facilitating discussions on educational innovation and cooperation.
    All travel and accommodation expenses for staff members will be covered by the University of Oviedo.

How to Apply

Interested staff members should contact their INGENIUM Partner Coordinator (IPC) and submit the required application form via email to both their IPC and ingenium@uniovi.es by 23 December 2024. The working group for the event will be launched in January 2025.
