The living costs table in the question above gives indicative minimal monthly figures for each city to help you plan.
Recipients of the INGENIUM scholarship are not eligible for Erasmus+ KA131 mobility grants for the same periods or other Erasmus+ grants.
However, other funding schemes may apply for students from disadvantaged backgrounds . Check with the JAC if you are thinking about applying to any other funding.
No, CBPT is not available as an online or distance-learning programme. Students are expected to participate in the mandatory in-person study periods and mobility activities that form an integral part of the programme.
Some courses may include online or digital learning components, but these do not replace the mandatory in-person study periods. Although exceptions may be considered for students who, despite reasonable support measures, are unable to undertake physical mobility due to significant barriers, including economic, social, health-related, disability, caring responsibilities, or legal constraints, as well as unforeseen or exceptional circumstances beyond their control that make travel legally impossible, life-threatening, or physically prevented. In such cases, virtual mobility may be permitted, but cannot exceed 60% of the total mobility period.
Mobility is a mandatory part of the CBPT programme. Students are expected to study at all three partner universities as part of the integrated curriculum: the first semester at TUIASI (Romania), the second semester at UNIOVI (Spain), and the third semester at URN (France).
During the fourth semester, students complete a mandatory internship and prepare their Master’s thesis at one of the partner universities or industrial partners, in accordance with the programme framework and academic arrangements. Extraordinary exceptions may be considered.
For the first CBPT cohort (Academic Year 2026/2027), only European students are eligible for admission and therefore no visa is required to study in Romania, Spain, or France as part of the programme.
From the second cohort onward, students from non-EU countries will also be eligible to apply. As all three partner countries are part of the Schengen Area, non-EU students will generally be required to obtain a national long-stay visa (Type D), issued by Romania, as the primary country of residence within the programme. As the programme extends over 24 months, students may need to renew their visa or apply for a residence permit for the second year of study. The programme will provide guidance on this process. For specific questions regarding visa requirements, please contact the TUIASI International Office .
Partner universities will provide support and guidance for finding accommodation in each study location. This may include information about university residences, where available, as well as other local housing options.
Practical details will be shared with admitted students before each mobility period, together with other pre-arrival information.
Key dates and deadlines related to admissions, application results, enrolment, and the start of the programme are available in the Application Calendar section above. Applicants are encouraged to consult it regularly, as updates may be communicated throughout the admission process.
If exceptional circumstances arise, such as personal or medical reasons that affect your ability to continue your studies as planned, you should contact the programme coordinators as soon as possible.
Each case will be assessed individually, taking into account the regulations of the partner universities and the specific circumstances involved, with the aim of identifying the most appropriate solution and support measures.
