The University of Oviedo, founded in 1608, is a cornerstone of academic excellence in Spain. With seven campuses across Oviedo, Gijón, and Mieres, it hosts 11 faculties and 6 schools, offering 60 bachelor’s degrees, 60 master’s degrees (including 5 Erasmus Mundus programmes), 63 specific degrees, and 25 Ph.D. programmes. The university serves over 16,304 undergraduate students, 1,804 Master’s students and 1,571 Ph.D. candidates, supported by 38 departments and 17 faculties and schools.

Renowned for its research prowess, the University of Oviedo drives 80% of Asturias’ research efforts, with 369 dedicated researchers and 100 annual pre-doctoral grants.
