Co-supervision or co-tutelle collaborations built around a shared research line, combining supervision across INGENIUM universities, international mobility, stakeholder engagement and joint doctoral training activities.

Short physical mobility combined with collaborative online learning, involving at least three institutions and awarding at least 3 ECTS. For students, staff or both.

Existing accredited courses opened to students across INGENIUM, delivered virtually or in blended mode, with places available in 2026/2027 or 2027/2028.

Objectives

Building a connected European campus

Whether you develop a full joint degree or experiment with a single collaborative course, this call turns cooperation into concrete academic components. Proposals should promote:

Collaborative learning connected to real programme learning outcomes rather than to extracurricular add-ons..
Student and staff mobility and international exposure, embedded seamlessly rather than added on.
Innovative, student-centred and inclusive pedagogies, including properly designed blended and online formats.
Alliance-wide collaboration and co-creation with societal and industry partners.
Co-creation with society, drawing on the Knowledge Ecosystems, associate partners and regional stakeholders.

Who is this call for?

Open to academic staff: faculty, lecturers, programme directors, from all ten partners. Each proposal names a lead coordinator and the key people from each partner. We encourage early-career academics, diverse teams, and student partners, especially in collaborative teaching.

Technical staff, students and external stakeholders can also participate in the different categories in a co-creation capacity.

Structure & timeline

Two routes, one shared deadline in December

The fast track is a single, lighter step for mature ideas. The general call runs in two stages with networking in between. Green markers are the moments that matter most.

Call opens
Both routes open. Fast-track applications and expressions of interest can be submitted from day one. The FAQ is published and developed as questions arrive

Institutional rules published
Each partner university publishes its own rules on the use of funds, updated for the general call in October

Information sessions and webinars
General sessions, fast-track sessions, and sessions grouped by category

Fast-track deadline
Final applications for collaborations to be delivered between February and June 2027

Expressions of interest published
Concepts received are shared across the alliance and feed the keyword-based matching

Networking and matchmaking
Online and onsite sessions across the alliance, keyword-based matching, and initiatives organised by colleagues on their own topics

Fast-track approvals
Communicated on a rolling basis. Approved activities are offered to students from November onwards.

Expressions of interest close
The concepts received form the basis for the remainder of the matchmaking phase

General call deadline
Final applications for collaborations launching in the academic year 2027/2028.

Technical review
Carried out by the mixed transition group for each category, supported by the Secretariat.

Selection and feedback
Validation and final selection by the Education Council, with student representation. Feedback provided to all applicants.

Fast-track delivery
Selected fast-track collaborations run, with preparation sessions provided for the teams involved.

Preparation for 2027/2028
Selected general-call teams take part in the training cycle and complete their factsheets, arrangements and student information

Review
Evaluation of the pilot, feeding refined criteria for the first complete cycle

Frequently Asked Questions

Good to know before you apply

What is the difference between the fast track and the general call?

The fast track is a single-stage, lighter route for mature ideas ready to run in semester 2 of 2026/2027 (deadline 9 October, approvals early November). The general call is a two-stage route — expression of interest, then a full application by 1 December — for activities launching in 2027/2028.

I'm already in an INGENIUM Research Group or Education Lab. Can I apply?

Yes, very much so. Build on synergies from those initiatives, or submit entirely new proposals.

How do I find a partner?

Submit an EOI, join the networking meetings, use the keyword-based matching to find colleagues on related topics, and browse the shared EOIs. You can pitch your idea during a session or ask a colleague to present for you.

What is the difference between a micro-credential and a micro-module?

A micro-credential is accredited in full alignment with the European Approach to micro-credentials and carries a formal certification. A micro-module is any other short learning experience that may not meet those EU standards but still offers valuable learning — a lighter, more flexible option.

Micro-credential vs collaborative teaching and learning — what's the difference?

Quality assurance. A micro-credential is a stand-alone offering, quality-assured individually, with its own certificate. A collaborative teaching and learning initiative is part of an existing curriculum and quality-assured through it — for example, two lecturers merging similar courses into shared or hybrid sessions.

How much funding is available for my proposal?

Funding is discussed with your local INGENIUM Partner Coordinator, within your institution’s allocation for the call. Indicate any special resource needs in your application rather than a detailed budget.
