Applications open for the first INGENIUM Ambassadors. Create content for the Alliance and earn a trip to another European campus

Apply to become one of the first INGENIUM Ambassadors and earn a funded three-day trip to another INGENIUM university. All you need is ideas and the will to tell other students what INGENIUM is about, in your own words and on the platforms they use. Join the online information session on Friday 9 October at 13:30 CEST, and apply by Sunday 18 October.

INGENIUM brings together ten universities across Europe, and every year hundreds of students take part in its mobilities, education offerings and activities. Until now, the Alliance has told those stories through press releases, news and official posts. This is the first time INGENIUM asks students to tell them instead, in the belief that nobody can explain what it feels like to study on our European campus better than someone who has done it.

In that spirit, INGENIUM is launching the INGENIUM Ambassadors, a new initiative for students with a passion for communication, social media or simply for telling stories. For one academic year, the Ambassadors will become the reporters of the Alliance on their own campus.

To become one, students take part in this call by presenting their own idea for communicating INGENIUM in the form of a project. If their project is selected, they will spend the year carrying it out with the support of the INGENIUM office at their university, telling the story of the Alliance through their own eyes.

The project

A project can be presented by one student or by two students from the same university, and it runs from November 2026 to May 2027. Each team agrees its plan with its local INGENIUM office, which guides the work throughout the year, reviews every piece and publishes it on the university’s INGENIUM channels. Pieces of interest to the whole Alliance are also shared on the INGENIUM website and social media, credited to their authors.

The formats are open. A project may include short videos, reels and stories, podcasts, photo reportages, mini-documentaries, testimonies from students who have taken part in a mobility, or the live coverage of an INGENIUM event on campus. It may also include work in person, such as presenting INGENIUM at student fairs, open days and welcome events, talking to prospective students at secondary schools or organising promotional activities on campus. Many projects will combine both.

The trip

Ambassadors who complete their project will, as a rule, travel to another INGENIUM university for three days. During their stay, they work alongside the communication team of the host INGENIUM office and, whenever the calendar allows it, cover an INGENIUM activity taking place there.

In the application form, each team can name up to three preferred destinations among the other partner universities. The trip is funded with up to €1,000 per person for travel, accommodation and subsistence, and it is managed by the INGENIUM office of the students’ home university.

Every Ambassador also receives an INGENIUM Ambassador certificate in the form of a digital badge, a profile on the INGENIUM website as part of the first cohort, a letter of reference on request and, where their university allows it, academic recognition.

Profiles

The call is open to Bachelor’s, Master’s and PhD students at the INGENIUM universities taking part in this first edition. INGENIUM is looking for students who create content or would like to start, students who have taken part in an INGENIUM mobility or programme and want to share their experience, and students who are comfortable speaking in public about the Alliance. Previous experience in communication, journalism or content creation is welcome but not required. Motivation, familiarity with the platforms students use and the ability to tell a story well count for more.

Information session

The Ambassadors team will present the call at an online information session on Friday 9 October at 13:30 CEST, on Microsoft Teams. The session will cover the kind of projects the call is looking for, how selection works and how the trips are organised, and it will end with questions from students. No registration is needed.

Application

Applications are submitted through a single online form, once per project, before 18 October. The form asks for a short description of the project, the planned formats, the team members, their availability to travel and their preferred destinations, together with a link to a sample of their communication work, which can be an existing piece or a short piece about INGENIUM made for the occasion.

Each participating university reviews the applications of its own students and selects its Ambassadors. Results will be announced by 30 October. Students who want to discuss their idea before applying can attend the information session or contact the INGENIUM office at their university.
