- International learning paths embedded in degrees across the INGENIUM alliance — combining mobility, joint courses and student-led challenges around a programme you already study at home.
What is a Pathway Programme?
A Pathway Programme is not a new degree. It is a coherent international component added on top of an existing accredited Bachelor or Master programme at one of the ten INGENIUM partner universities.
You remain enrolled in your home degree under your university’s own rules and recognition. The Pathway brings you an integrated international experience, designed jointly across the alliance, that is woven into the years you would study in the normal study programme.
The result is a learning route that is genuinely European by design: with structured mobility windows, internationally co-taught courses, and the possibility of working on a real challenge hosted by another partner.

The Three curricular building blocks
Every Pathway is composed of three curricular blocks. Together they shape a learning experience that is well rooted in its core disciplines, broad in transferable competences, and open to fields beyond the main programme.
Block 1
Core Disciplines
The programme-specific knowledge required by the national degree the disciplinary backbone of the Pathway, taught at the home university.
Block 2
Transversal Disciplines
Competences for citizenship, employability and sustainability developed across courses and joint INGENIUM activities.
Block 3
Additional Disciplines
Learning from fields beyond the main discipline, a chance to broaden your perspective through international-university offers.
What you actually do in a Pathway
A Pathway draws on three distinct types of international activities. You won’t necessarily do all three in a single year — each Pathway combines them differently, in line with the discipline and the student’s profile.

Blended Intensive Programmes (BIPs)
Short, intensive international courses combining online collaboration with a physical week at a partner university, funded by Erasmus+

Collaborative Teaching & Course Catalogue
Joint seminars, co-taught modules, guest lectures and a shared catalogue of courses open to Pathway students across the alliance.

Challenge-Based Mobilities (CBM)
Short, individualised mobilities where you solve a real-world challenge anchored in an INGENIUM ecosystem, then work on it at a partner institution.

Long-term physical mobility
Once you are in a Pathway, your long-term Erasmus+ mobility within INGENIUM is fully guaranteed. You won’t compete with other students in general mobility calls. You can spend one or two semesters at our partner universities with full credit recognition.
Why join a Pathway
Pathways are not an optional extra. International experience, joint learning and academic recognition are woven into the structure of the programme, with concrete alliance-wide commitments.
Funded through Erasmus+, spent at one or more partner universities.
Online, hybrid, COIL and guest-led components, without leaving home.
Mobility windows are pre-recognised by the home institution.
Access to courses offered across the ten INGENIUM partners.
Local Guidance to Navigate Your Pathway
From day one until graduation, a dedicated local team will be there to help you navigate your international journey. One person might fill multiple roles, but you will always get the guidance you need.
Pathway Coordinator
Main contact for students and INGENIUM partners. Convenes the local team and aligns the programme with the alliance.
Academic Advisor
Guides students on mobility, course choices and the recognition route. May be the same person as the coordinator.
Career Advisor
Connects students with professional development opportunities, employability resources and external mentors.
All Pathway coordinators meet regularly in an INGENIUM-wide Community of Practice to share experience, align approaches and develop the model jointly across the alliance.

No. A Pathway is an international layer added on top of an existing accredited Bachelor or Master programme at one of the ten INGENIUM partner universities. You remain enrolled in your home degree.
No — there is no separate INGENIUM application. Enrolment is local: you join the Pathway through your home university, following its own procedures. Your local Pathway Coordinator is your first point of contact.
Physical mobility windows in Pathways are funded through Erasmus+. Challenge-Based Mobilities are funded by the INGENIUM project itself. Specific amounts and procedures vary by mobility type and partner.
Pathways are built with full automatic recognition for mobility windows. Joint courses, BIPs and Challenge-Based Mobilities are recognised through ECTS credits, digital micro-credentials, or a mention on your final Pathway certificate — sometimes a combination of all three.
In 2026/2027, Pathways are launching at five INGENIUM partners (UNIOVI, TUIASI, UdA Chieti-Pescara, Xamk, Skövde). More partners and Pathways will be added in following cycles. Meanwhile, students at every INGENIUM university can still benefit from BIPs, joint courses and the shared catalogue.
Application calendars are set locally by each Pathway’s home university and follow its standard enrolment cycle. Check the local enrolment link on each Pathway’s card.
