Description

The University of Skövde offers three online microcredentials in sustainable development during autumn 2026 to INGENIUM students. The courses are at undergraduate level and no prior knowledge is required. The courses give students the opportunity to explore sustainability from ecological, social and economic perspectives and to work with practical sustainability challenges in an international learning context. Students can choose one or several courses:

  • Ecological Sustainable Development (this course)
  • Social Sustainable Development
  • Sustainable and Resilient Entrepreneurship

Each course gives 3 ECTS credits and runs from 12 October to 29 November 2026. The courses are taught in English and delivered online.

The courses are built around modules, workshops and group work. The first module is shared by all three courses and introduces sustainable development and effective group work. The following workshops are adapted to the specific focus of each course, while still connecting ecological, social and economic dimensions of sustainability.

Through the courses, students collaborate with peers from different backgrounds and universities. They develop intercultural and interdisciplinary understanding, as well as skills in teamwork, communication, problem-solving and reflection on group development. These competencies are important for working with sustainability challenges in a globalized and multicultural world.
