INGENIUM Student Partnerships 2026/2027 First Round
- Have an idea you want to bring to life? Build a team with students from across INGENIUM and get the support and funding to make it happen.
How Student Partnerships work this year
Student Partnerships are back for the Academic Year 2026/2027, building on two previous editions and over 15 funded student projects across INGENIUM. This year, the initiative introduces two funding rounds, giving students two opportunities to develop and submit a project during the academic year.
Here you will find information on Round 1, with applications opening in October 2026 and projects running from 1 January to 15 July 2027. Round 2 will open in April 2027, for projects implemented between June and December 2027.

Your idea can take many forms
Student Partnerships are designed to give students the freedom to create. Your project can bring people together to learn, compete, exchange ideas, tackle a challenge or engage with a community — in the format that works best for your idea.

training sessions, skill sharing

hackathons, tournaments, debates

exhibitions, dissemination events, excursions

local initiatives, activities with communities
One project, different possibilities. Activities can take place on-site, online or in a hybrid format, at one university or across several universities. Your project can include one activity or combine several.
Who Can Be Part of a Student Partnership?
A Student Partnership can bring together individual students, groups of students, student organisations, or a combination of both, from across the INGENIUM Alliance. Bachelor’s, Master’s and PhD students can take part, either independently or through a student-led organisation.
- Individual students — Bachelor, Master and PhD students from any INGENIUM university.
- Student groups — Groups of students who want to develop a shared idea and collaborate with partners from other INGENIUM universities.
- Student organisations — Student-led associations operating at an INGENIUM university or within the INGENIUM Alliance.
Previously funded students can apply again with a new project idea. If the proposal builds on a previous Student Partnership, it must clearly scale it up, extend it or add new value, results or forms of collaboration.
Every project must bring together students or student organisations from at least three INGENIUM universities.
There is no maximum number of partner universities, so your team can grow as wide as your idea needs.
Where does your idea fit?
Every Student Partnership should connect to one or more of the areas shaping the INGENIUM European Campus. Your project can focus on one or bring several together.

Two stages of application
The application process gives you the flexibility to start with an idea and build your partnership along the way. Share an Expression of Interest if you are still looking for partners, then submit your complete project proposal once your team is ready.

1 October - 3 November 2026
Have an idea but still need partners? Share a short Expression of Interest to make your idea visible across the INGENIUM student community and connect with potential collaborators.
Final Application

Once your partnership is ready, submit your complete project proposal and budget through the INGENIUM platform.
Funding & Support
Student Partnership projects can receive up to €10,000 in funding. Your budget should reflect what your project actually needs and how costs are shared between the participating universities. The final amount awarded depends on the available funding and the applications received.
| What can be funded | Notes |
|---|---|
| Travel & accommodation | Travel and accommodation needed for students to take part in project activities. |
| Project materials & event costs | Consumables, food, venue rental and local transport during an event or activity. |
| Communication & dissemination | Materials and activities used to promote the project or share its results. |
| External services | Services needed to deliver the project, such as translation, video production or other specialist support. |
| Other justified project costs | Other expenses directly linked to the project may be included if they are clearly justified and eligible under Erasmus+ European Universities rules. |
No single partner university may manage more than 50% of the total project budget.
Funding is managed through the INGENIUM universities taking part in your project, and procedures may differ between institutions. Students normally do not receive or manage the funds directly.
Each participating university must be able to cover the share of the project budget assigned to it, so make sure you discuss your planned costs with your local INGENIUM office before submitting your application.
How your proposal is assessed
Applications are reviewed by panels of at least two members, composed of an INGENIUM Steering Committee member and members of the INGENIUM Student Board.
30
Relevance
Alignment of the project with INGENIUM objectives and with the overall objectives of the European Universities Initiative.
40
Quality
Clear description of the activities planned; quality of the partnership, including the number of universities involved and clearly defined roles for each partner.
30
Impact
Target groups to be reached (students, student organisations, staff, civil society, public institutions, companies) and the impact to be made on each of them, with an estimation of the number of people to be reached.
Expression of interest
For programmes launching in 2027/2028. Short by design: a theme, a host, and what you still need. You do not need three partners yet — finding the third is one of the things the networking phase does best.

Frequently Asked Questions
Because a programme cannot be designed, agreed and accredited in a semester. The fast track exists for initiatives that can be delivered between February and June 2027. A joint programme proposed now realistically launches in 2028 or later, and the call is honest about that rather than creating a deadline nobody can meet.
Two is the minimum. The strategic priority is broader: consortia with several partners and genuinely integrated delivery score better under relevance, and are closer to what the European Degree Label expects.
Only if it requires new accreditation. Double degrees that can be built inside existing frameworks belong under Pathways, in the flexible configuration, where the process is considerably lighter.
No. Adaptation of the existing portfolio is funded through INGENIUM-ED. This section is for new programmes, and the two streams stay separate.
Accreditation fees and quality assurance agency costs are planned centrally as part of the alliance’s joint education budget. Your own request covers the development work — meetings, design time, expert input — according to the needs of the programme.
Yes, for a joint or multiple doctoral programme that requires an accreditation process. For any other type of doctoral collaboration, you can check the doctoral collaborations section.
