Pre-registrations Now Open for CBPT: INGENIUM‘s First Joint Master’s Degree Programme

Pre-registrations are now open for the Joint Master’s Programme in Chemical and Biochemical Process Technology (CBPT), the first Joint Master’s Degree offered within INGENIUM. Students have the opportunity to study across Romania, Spain, and France, can benefit from financial support of up to €20 000 in INGENIUM Scholarships, and graduate with a single joint master’s degree awarded by three European universities.

There are moments that define a new chapter. For INGENIUM, the launch of the Joint Master’s Programme in Chemical and Biochemical Process Technology (CBPT) is one of them.

Starting in the 2026/2027 academic year, a new generation of students will have the opportunity to become part of the Alliance’s first joint degree programme, studying in Romania, Spain and France while building the knowledge and practical skills needed to tackle some of today’s most pressing industrial and environmental challenges.

More than a master’s degree, CBPT is a European learning journey designed for curious minds eager to work across disciplines, cultures and borders.

A Master’s Degree Designed for the Challenges of Tomorrow

Chemical and biochemical processes sit at the heart of many of the transformations shaping society’s future; from sustainable production and biotechnology, to greener industrial practices and innovative materials. The CBPT Master’s Programme was developed for graduates who want to be part of this transformation.

If you are looking for more than a traditional master’s degree, CBPT offers the opportunity to:

  • study in three European countries within a single programme;
  • graduate with a joint master’s degree recognised across Europe;
  • gain practical experience through laboratories, projects, internships, and research activities;
  • learn from academics and industry experts with complementary expertise;
  • build an international network of peers, researchers, and professionals through the INGENIUM community.

Also, as the first programme to benefit from the newly launched INGENIUM Scholarship Scheme, eligible students may receive up to €20 000 in financial support to help cover mobility and living expenses throughout their studies.

Who Should Apply?

CBPT is for graduates who want to work at the intersection of chemistry, biotechnology and engineering to develop the processes behind the products we rely on every day. From industrial bioprocesses and sustainable manufacturing to bio-based products and resource-efficient technologies, this programme offers the opportunity to develop expertise at the intersection of disciplines that are shaping the future.

The first cohort of the academic year 2026/2027 welcomes applications from EU/EEA graduates holding a Bachelor’s degree in fields such as:

  • Chemical Engineering,
  • Biochemical Engineering,
  • Biotechnology, Chemistry,
  • Environmental Engineering,
  • Food Science,
  • Pharmaceutical Sciences,
  • Biomedical Engineering,
  • or a closely related field of study.

Pre-registrations Are Now Open

Pre-registrations are now open and prospective students can submit their Expression of Interest before the launch of the official admission period.

The process takes around 5 minutes to complete and gives applicants the opportunity to:

  • receive an initial indication of their eligibility;
  • stay informed about key admission dates and requirements;
  • receive updates and guidance throughout the admissions process;
  • prepare the necessary documents in advance of the formal application phase.

Submitting an EoI is not binding and does not replace the official application.

The challenges of tomorrow will not be solved by a single discipline, a single technology, or a single country. CBPT brings together diverse perspectives, scientific excellence, and international collaboration to prepare a new generation of innovators ready to create sustainable solutions for a changing world.
Alexandra Blaga, Professor at TUIASI and CBPT Programme Coordinator

The pre-registration period will remain open until 5 July 2026, while the official admission period will run from 6 July to 6 September 2026. Admission results are expected to be announced in September, with the first students beginning the programme on 1 October 2026.
