South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences delegation and Munster Technological University staff discuss teaching, research and engagement

On 22 to 24 November, a delegation of academic staff from South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences (XAMK) School of Technology led by Mika Ruponen visited Munster Technological University (MTU) meeting Irish colleagues across MTU including those from the National Maritime College of Ireland (NMCI).

The discussions between XAMK and MTU staff encompassed a broad range of topics and potential future interactions across teaching, research and engagement and allowed both university faculty to become more familiar with each other.

The delegates spent one of the days in the National Maritime College of Ireland and touring the facilities and having round table discussions with the academic staff therein. Many similarities were noted between partners in pedagogical methodologies and strategic missions.

This delegation has already led to subsequent discussions and the strengthening of the links between the two partners as they both embark on the shared INGENIUM vision.
