Explore New Learning Opportunities: Four INGENIUM Microcredentials Open for Pre-registration in November
Looking to expand your knowledge, develop new professional skills or explore an emerging field? This November, the INGENIUM European University offers new learning opportunities through four microcredentials available in its Course Catalogue.
Covering topics ranging from environmental health and drone technology to intercultural communication and school communities, these courses offer learners the opportunity to explore specialised subjects and gain new competencies through flexible online learning.
Whether you are a student, an academic or a working professional, the November microcredential offer brings together expertise from across the INGENIUM Alliance, making new learning opportunities accessible to a wider community.
What are microcredentials and why take one?
A microcredential is a qualification that recognises what you learn through a short, focused course. It can help you build on your degree, develop a skill you can use at work or explore a new field before committing to a longer programme. This November’s courses carry between 2 and 5 ECTS credits and have a €35 enrolment fee each. Depending on the course, they are open to university students, graduates, professionals and lifelong learners.
Accredited courses developed across European universities
Each course is accredited and jointly developed by INGENIUM partner universities, bringing complementary academic expertise and perspectives from different countries into a single specialist course. In environmental health, for example, you’ll study the same challenges through the lenses of green chemistry, public health and toxicology.
1. Climate Change and Environmental Toxicology: Implications for Human Health
Online · 3 ECTS · 30 places · Pre-registration 2 – 11 November 2026
This interdisciplinary course explores the links between climate change, environmental pollution and human health. It brings together environmental and green chemistry, public health, toxicology and biomedical sciences to examine how pollutants and other environmental stressors affect health.
Who is this for? Professionals, graduates, postgraduate students and doctoral candidates in medicine, public health, environmental science, ecology, toxicology, pharmacy and related fields. If applications exceed the number of places, priority is given to doctoral students and professionals.
Why take this course? When you read a study on air pollution or heatwaves, what does the evidence tell you about the health risk? The course gives you practice interpreting scientific findings and assessing environmental exposures, skills you can use in research, public health and environmental risk assessment.
Course dates: 9 December 2026 – 19 March 2027
2. Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) and Applications: From Flight Fundamentals to Data Intelligence
Online · 4 ECTS · 30 places · Pre-registration 8 – 22 November 2026
This practice-oriented course covers drone systems, flight regulations and safety alongside geospatial data collection and processing. You’ll explore mission planning, sensors, photogrammetry and georeferencing, and learn how to produce and assess outputs such as orthophotos and 3D terrain models.
Who is this for? Higher education students, professionals and lifelong learners interested in drone operations, surveying, geographic information systems (GIS), civil engineering or environmental analysis.
Why take this course? For a site survey or an environmental monitoring project, you need to know whether your aerial data is accurate enough for the job. The course connects flight planning with data processing and accuracy assessment, so you can judge whether the resulting map or model is fit for its intended use.
Course dates: 8 December 2026 – 14 March 2027
3. School Community, Group and Peer Relationships: Best Practices
Online · 2 ECTS · 40 places · Pre-registration 9 – 17 November 2026
This course explores how school communities work, from formal structures to informal groups and friendships. You’ll compare approaches to group dynamics and examine practices that can strengthen pupils’ sense of belonging and well-being at school.
Who is this for? Bachelor’s students from any discipline and lifelong learners, particularly those interested in education, youth work or school well-being. Places are allocated in order of registration.
Why take this course? If you work with young people or are preparing to do so, understanding how peer groups form can help you spot when pupils struggle to feel part of the group. You’ll explore ways to organise group activities and support relationships that help more pupils participate.
Course dates: 25 November 2026 – 14 May 2027
4. Intercultural Communication
Blended · 5 ECTS · 25 places · Pre-registration 10 November – 10 December 2026
This course explores how cultural backgrounds, values and assumptions influence communication in academic, professional and social settings. Through case studies, practical exercises and reflection, you’ll examine intercultural misunderstandings and practise ways to respond. Face-to-face sessions in local groups at participating universities are combined with online resources and independent study.
Who is this for? University students at all levels, including Erasmus, exchange and international students. B2 spoken English is required as the course is taught in English.
Why take this course? On an exchange semester or in an international group project, differences in how people give feedback or speak up can lead to misunderstandings. The course gives you ways to check your assumptions, clarify what someone means and work through differences with your peers.
Course dates: 11 January – 23 April 2027
All four microcredentials are featured in the INGENIUM Course Catalogue, where interested learners can find further information about course content, learning outcomes, eligibility and registration.
Pre-registration takes place directly through the registration forms provided on each course page. As places are limited, interested learners are encouraged to check the individual course requirements and register within the relevant pre-registration period.
