INGENIUM receives 31 Fast Track proposals as the Annual Education Call 26/27 continues
The INGENIUM Annual Education Call 2026/2027 has attracted a strong response, with 31 Fast Track proposals involving over 130 academics from all ten partner universities. Submitted by the 16 October deadline, these proposals reflect a shared commitment to developing international learning opportunities for students and staff and expanding the Alliance’s joint educational offer.
The Fast Track phase of the INGENIUM Annual Education Call 2026/2027 closed on 16 October with 31 proposals involving over 130 academics across all ten partner universities. Eight universities lead submissions, bringing together colleagues who want to develop educational activities throughout the Alliance.
The proposals range from short international formats to doctoral collaborations and experiments in teaching. They reflect both the continued work of established teams and an interest in exploring new ways to teach and learn together across borders.
What colleagues are proposing
The submissions span the following categories:
- 8 Blended Intensive Programmes,
- 10 Collaborative Teaching and Learning initiatives,
- 4 Doctoral Collaborations,
- 4 Micro-credentials and micro-courses,
- 3 Staff Academy Training proposals
- 2 Teaching Innovations.
Behind these figures are concrete educational ideas. For example, one proposal brings together teaching and thesis co-supervision around climate adaptation in urban neighbourhoods, connecting academic work with a local challenge. Another explores how students at different universities can collaborate using virtual reality in chemical engineering. A staff training proposal focuses on team-based learning, helping colleagues design more participatory online and blended teaching.
Some activities build on educational initiatives already established through INGENIUM. Others test newer formats such as collaborative theses and challenge-based mobility, creating opportunities to connect learning with practical questions and expertise at another university.
“The great response to the fast track call shows the tremendous appetite among our INGENIUM academic community to come together to collaborate and produce new educational formats that bring together international opportunities, pedagogical innovation and social impact. From guest lectures to PhD co-supervisions, the INGENIUM academic community will offer our students the opportunity to transform their learning journeys while making a positive change.”
Juan Rayón, INGENIUM Director
What happens next for Fast Track applicants?
Under the proposed timetable, the relevant evaluation teams will complete their initial assessment by 30 October, followed by institutional confirmation of the resources needed to deliver the activities by 5 November. Applicants are expected to receive official notification of the results on 6 November.
The review will also provide feedback to help teams develop their proposals further. Final committee endorsement is expected during November. Timings may vary between categories, with the aim of allowing preparations for the activities to move forward in early November.
Your idea could be the next starting point
The Fast Track submissions are only the first stage of this year’s call. Through the general call 12 Expressions of Interest have already been received, introducing further ideas for educational collaboration across INGENIUM.
If you have a concept you would like to explore, you can submit an Expression of Interest without having developed a complete proposal or assembled a full team. This short description introduces your educational idea, the collaboration you have in mind and the expertise you would welcome from other universities.
Perhaps you would like your students to work with peers on a shared assignment, bring an international perspective into an existing course or develop a new learning opportunity with colleagues abroad. Describing what you want to achieve gives potential collaborators a way to recognise a shared interest and see where they could contribute.
You can indicate partners you are already working with or explain whom you are looking for. Sharing your idea through an EoI can help you make those connections and develop a full proposal together for the 2027/2028 academic year.
From an initial proposal to a full application
By 13 November 2026: share your Expression of Interest
Outline your idea, its educational context and the type of collaboration you would like to establish. Explore the available proposal types and consult the relevant guidance to find the format that best fits your aims.
Network and develop your idea with colleagues across the Alliance
The networking and matchmaking phase is intended to help colleagues identify shared interests and potential partners. An EoI gives others something concrete to respond to and provides a basis for discussing how you could work together.
By 18 December 2026: submit your full application
Once your idea and collaboration have taken shape, submit a complete proposal through the relevant section of the Annual Education Call.
